loonaka, I absolutely adore that look. It's stunning and yet simple when you look closely. As you can see focus here is on the eyes, everything else is kept very subtle. As we all know there are many "modern" Bardot wannabes, but most of them make a mistake and overdo it.
I think number one rule here is, keep the skin natural looking, fresh and healthy. Even though Bardot looks so golden brown and sunkissed, for those of us who dont have that skin tone, natural pale might be better than fake tan. The key word is natural. So if you have freckles show it.
Since the only visible makeup is supposed to be on the eyes, too much/ wrong foundation or a lipstick with some screamy colour would distract from the eyes and ruin the look.
As you can see, even the eyebrows are kept natural and soft, not too thin, or too dark. They seem to be only lightly marked.
Lips are toned down with a lipstick that almost makes them the same colour of her skin. So if you're paler than B, you can pick a pale apricot or pale fleshy pink. These lipsticks usually look beige/neutral but turn either more orange or more pink on the lips. It's quite hard to tell in the store, (especially with those fake lights) so I suggest try some first, go home and see how it looks.
A trick to make the lips appear bigger: fill in your "V" edge (you know what I mean? The upper middle of your lips) with lipstick, but everywhere else keep the lipstick right on the "boarder" of your lips, not over it or it will look silly. I fill in the "V" with some pale pink eyeshadow. (but very lightly) and then add more lipstick: this is such a small thing, but makes a huge difference.
Use fingertips to apply lipstick. Somehow it makes it sit better.
I personally think that a lipgloss would be a mistake for this look, even though they are not as colourful, they are very shiny/wet and distract from the eyes.
Now finally those sultry eyes. Bardot used a liquid liner in her "older looks" but here it seems that she switched to crayon and black eyeshadow. Crayon is easiest to work with when you want to smudge and create that smoky look.
Start with applying a good eyeshadow primer. Then apply a neutral shade on eyelids (nothing too glittery), then frame in the eyes with black eyeshadow, smudge and blend in well. To make the eyes look "longer" (mine are kind of too round) I apply more shade right on the lower corner of my eye. (i sort of "fil in" the empty space there)
Then apply crayon as close to the lashes as you can get. Outline your lower lid as much as you can. (Just dont poke yourself in the eye like I did lol...
) Then work more with shadow to blend it all nicely, to create more of that smoky effect.
Curl your lashes and apply mascara. In my experience thick mascaras that promise volume just glue together lashes and weigh them down.
My absolute favourite mascara is "Extreme definition-ultimate lash- separating mascara" in black by Rimmel. This mascara will discover even the tiniest lash, and make it visible. It's not a brush, but more like a small metal comb, unusual but the only thing that makes my thin lashes long and thick, and doesnt weigh them down into a straight shape. And you need just a little.
Here is a link that might explain some things better, if I couldnt:
www.wikihow.com/Make-Eyes-Look-Smoky-with-MakeupOh, by the way, my favourite eyeshadow palette for creating this look is "shimmer cubes, palette 12" by the Body Shop. Amazing colours.
Hope I helped.
