What is it that you like about 60's style? Why is it so appealing to you? Also, who are your biggest style icons from the 60's? I love the 60's tent dresses, mini skirts, tights, boots, make-up styles, headbands, hairstyles, etc. People seemed a lot more innocent then - they lived more care-free lives than we do today, and I love that about the 60's! The colors of the 60's were great too - such lovely bright hues and also just minimal black and white. My biggest style icons from the 60's are of course Edie, Anna Karina, Jane Birkin, Mia Farrow, Catherine Deneuve, Brigette Bardot, Nico, Audrey Hepburn, France Gall, and Penelope Tree. I'm sure I forgot some though.

Oh my goodness, I love Mia Farrow her whole style was so lovely. Edie will always be my favorite, Audrey, Ann-Margret, Brigitte, Marilyn, Julie Andrews (although I'm not sure if she counts or as 60's or not).

JANIS!!! OH Janis has my heart completely...she burns my soul. I love her so hopelessly......
It's freedom...something about those times...that search for freedom that some people explored in their own ways.....and they created themselves. Edie...Janis.....they did their own thing their own way. No limits, no barriers.....feather boas....big black eyes......there was no need for barriers. I think that's really beautiful of the times and indeed the way it affected the fashion. It was bold....people created and experimented.
I went to a 60's fashion exhibit a few months ago...and it was out of this world. It actually made me pretty d**n sad because no one does anything like that anymore...people don't push the boundries....they just resort to the past. Hence all the d**n comebacks!
I'd say the people who's styles I loved from the 60's were also Janis (free spirited mama), Edie (out of this world, artistic soul, wow!), I know she barely makes it, but Uschi Obermaier (another free spirit with amazing style), Jim Morrison, Verushka, Nico...just a few that come to mind. Oh and i love Anna Karina also!

The fifties and sixties are my all-time favourite decades for style ^^ I love a lot of the ones that have been mentioned, and right now I'm also big into some of the other sixties icons like Natalie Wood, Ann-Margret and Jane Fonda. Such a groundbreaking time for style

*nods* Marilyn's one of my all-time favourites Her and Edie remind me of each other a little bit sometimes, not really stylewise but in other areas.

Physically, facially, a lot alike also. There are so many photographs of Edie where she's the spitting image of Marilyn! But yes indeed in other areas also....in their personalities and lives

Totally agree, I adore them both so I love their similarities I wonder if Edie herself was a fan of Marilyn's. For some reason the set of pics this belongs to always reminds me of MM: Photo Credit: Collection of Andy Warhol Museum So pretty...

Didn't Andy or someone compare Edie to Marilyn? I love Edie, Andy, Twiggy, Veruschka, Peggy Moffitt, Penelope Tree, Pattie (or is it Patti? I see it commonly both ways) and Jenny Boyd, The Monkees, The Beatles, The Mamas And The Papas, Mary Quant, Betsey Johnson, Emilio Pucci, Janis Joplin, Pier Angeli (what I've seen of her), etc. I also like Sharon Tate and Goldie Hawn's looks.
